A Lawsuit to Halt or Postpone the Elections for the Presidency of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants was Dismissed

Our firm successfully represented the Institute of Certified Public Accountants in Israel in defending against a lawsuit and an urgent request for a temporary restraining order filed by CPA Ariel Patel before the District Court of Tel Aviv-Jaffa. The lawsuit and the request revolved around the elections for the position of president of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the claims made by CPA Patel according to which, the disqualification of his candidacy for the aforementioned position was allegedly intended to facilitate the continued term of the current president. After our firm submitted a response to the request for a temporary restraining order, in which a series of arguments were presented, including that CPA Patel did not meet the required eligibility criteria for submitting candidacy for the position of president. Consequently, following a lengthy hearing held in the presence of the parties, the court accepted our position, and in accordance with its recommendation, the lawsuit was dismissed.
