The arbitration rules for hi-tech and technology disputes were approved by the United Nations Conference on International Trade

After nearly two years of work, this week the United Nations Conference on International Trade (UNCITRAL) approved the arbitration rules for technology and high-tech disputes (Project SPEDR), which were initially drawn up by an international committee of experts that included Shai Sharvit as one of its members, and later worked on by working group II of UNCITRAL. Later this year, the arbitration rules are expected to be voted on by the UN Plenary. The rules, formulated as part of an Israeli-Japanese initiative, are designed to address the unique characteristics of technology and high-tech disputes, and will be officially published by the United Nations in the coming months…
