Maya Ben Meir is a Partner at Gornitzky GNY and joined the firm in 2021 after approximately 3 years working as a restructuring associate at Kirkland & Ellis. Maya’s main area of practice is litigation as well as restructuring and insolvency.
Prior to joining the firm, Maya served as a legal clerk in the Israeli Supreme Court, and as a litigation associate at Herzog Fox Neeman & Co. Maya is admitted both in Israel (2016) and in New York (2019). In the US, Maya was involved in multi billion dollars major chapter 11 restructuring cases (Neiman Marcus and Forever 21 among others). Since joining the firm, Maya engaged in large, complex, world-wide restructuring and litigation cases, including: · a billion NIS restructuring case, in which the firm represents the Israeli secured bondholders (largest debt owner) of All Year Holdings Limited and their Trustee in a cross-border insolvency case; · representation of the Committee of Unsecured Creditors of Celsius which filed for chapter 11, inter alia, in the sale transaction of Celsius’ Israeli subsidiary, GK8; Maya is also responsible for the firm’s pro bono activity, and manages the firm’s engagements with NGOs and low income individuals. |
