Our firm represented Dan Public Transportation Ltd. in its acquisition of Arriva Investimentos, SGPS, S.A., which operates public transportation operations in Portugal and provides bus services in Lisbon. The acquisition began with Dan’s participation in a competitive bid process initiated by the Arriva Group (under the control of Deutsche Bahn AG, a German based leading passenger and logistics company). As part of the closing which took place on December 15, 2022, Gornitzky & Co. represented Dan in a sale and leaseback financing in the sum of EUR 40,000,000 through financial leasing agreements between TST – Transportes Sul Do Tejo, S.A., a subsidiary of Arriva Investimentos, and two Portuguese banks, Caixa Geral de Depósitos, S.A. and Banca de Empresas. This acquisition is Dan’s first acquisition of public transportation operations outside of Israel.
