Our firm represented the insurance companies, Clal and The Phoenix, in a Petition for the Certification of an Action as a Class Action, in which it was claimed that the insurance companies market and sell to the insured parties health insurance policies that provide coverage that is already included in the supplemental health services of the HMOs, thereby causing the insured parties to purchase excess insurance coverage, which factors in double insurance and the payment of excess premiums, in the astronomical scope of NIS 4.5 billion. In its well-reasoned judgment, which was handed down at the end of four years of litigation, the Tel Aviv-Jaffa District Court (the Honorable Judge R. Cohen) dismissed the Petition for Certification.
Clal and The Phoenix were represented by the partner, Noam Ronen, together with Adv. Daniel Barlev.
