Our firm represented the Hotel Association in response to an urgent application for a restraining order filed against it in the Tel Aviv District Court by three members of the Association against holding the election for the president of the Association, claiming the lack of competence of the leading candidate Avi Nissenkorn, who is neither a hotelier nor a member of the Association. The members also demanded to change the method of election in the Association’s bylaws, which discriminates against small hotels compared to chains. In a detailed ruling, the court rejected the plaintiffs’ claims and ordered them to pay court costs in the amount of NIS 6,000 to each of the respondents. Parallel to the rejection of the request, the elections took place, resulting in the election to the position of Avi Nissenkron, the former Minister of Justice and chairman of the Histadrut.
The Association was represented by Managing Partner Kfir Yadgar, together Senior Associates Reut Oshaya and Ilana Zibenberg.
