Our firm represented the residents of Mazor and Be’erot Yitzhak in a petition submitted to the Subcommittee on Principal Planning Issues to stop and cancel the new outline plan for Ben Gurion Airport, which is designed to alleviate the landing congestion at the airport. The petition claims that the noise of the aircrafts will cause significant short-term and long-term health consequences for residents.
Following the petition, the Subcommittee decided to freeze the outline plan and refer the noise issue to the examination of an inter-organizational committee, which will include representatives from the Ministry of Health, the Prime Minister’s Office, the Ministry of the Interior, the Ministry of Environmental Protection, the Ministry of Defence, the Ministry of Transport, the Israel Airports Authority, the Israel Land Authority, the Israel Planning Administration, environmental organizations and other organizations.
The residents were represented by partners Ofer Tzur (Head of Litigation) and Daniel Lasry.
